Hey guys,

I pitched my wlp300 hef yeast about 20 hours ago and still no activity. I threw it in my outside fridge (wasn't on) and i woke up to it being around 62-63 degrees. I was afraid the yeast might have went to sleep so I swirled my fermentor around and shook it a little.

Did I just mess up my batch of beer by bringing O2 in the mix again? I was just trying to bring the yeast back into suspension.

Will my batch be okay?

Oxygen in the beer (It's beer not wort because you've pitched the yeast) is not a problem before fermentation starts. The yeast need oxygen to grow more yeast. 20 hours isn't time to panic, most of my beers will take 24 to 36 hours to show signs of fermentation. If it hasn't kicked off in 72 hour, then you panic.....or just pitch new yeast. I'll bet yours is fermenting in the next 8 to 12 hours.
