I’m not going to be able to brew for some time, bc of work and I have some hops and yeast to consider. Should I just leave them in the fridge or find a spot in the freezer. The hops seem to be air tight and I have a couple of packets of dry yeast. The layoff from brewing might be until March or April. What are yours thoughts?

Also what are your thoughts on ordering grains online? I would mill them at home, but I’m not sure how they would handle the severe cold and changes in temperature to Massachusetts.

Thanks in advance.

Store the dry yeast in the refrigerator though room temperature for a year won't be a problem. Store the hops in the freezer to extend the quality of the oils. Grains that are not milled don't care too much about temperature change as long as they are stored dry but not overly hot. Grains stored without over heating should be good for at least a year if dry.
