First post on HBT, though you have all helped very much already, most every internet search leads to an answer here!

I am brewing a Boskeun clone (Beligien witbier) and it calls for Wyeast 3944. My local HBS did not have this currently in stock and suggested Wyeast 3638 as an alternative.

My question is, do you think this will greatly affect the taste of my beer?

Is this crazy?

I am likely just going to go for it, but want to avoid the banana flavor completely if possible that is indicated by 3638 and try for a subtle clove flavor as in 3944's description.

Should I just keep my temperature low to avoid banana flavor and more closely resemble 3944?

Thanks for your help. :mug:
