I've only been fermeneting for about 3 days however the yeast has already flocculated and the top and for the most part dropped to the bottom but it is still in clumps at the bottom of the fermenter and there is a very large krausen...is this normal or should I be concerned. The beer is very clear and has been since day 1.

Nothing to be concerned about, 1056 is a medium rated flocculating yeast and produces a nice clean crisp beer. What temp are you fermenting at?

No worries... I would let it sit for another week or so to let the yeast clean up. But if your gravity is consistant for 3 days in a row, fermentation is complete.

I have had this yeast finish fermenting in less than 3 days. It is usually fast.

I have an ale going with 1056 and it is still bubbling on day 4. I thought to myself, man this is taking longer than usual. Point being, 3 days or even 2 is normal for 1056.
