First time using Wyeast 2278 Czech Pils yeast, made a 1.4L starter with a package that was 10 days past the use by date. I could see there was yeast growth in about 12hours but then it sort of stopped, no krausen and the starter did not get any lighter. I let it go for 36hour before taking off the stir plate to settle for a few hour before cold crashing. There was a decent amount of yeast that fell out fairly quickly but the beer was still quite cloudy which seemed a bit unusual. 36 hours in the fridge and the beer is still cloudy with no clear beer. The yeast on the bottom is not very compacted and mixed back into the beer if the beaker is moved. The datasheet say medium high flocculation so I would it expect it to drop clear fairly quickly and not be so easy to stir up.

Does this behavior seem normal for WY2278?
