I hate it when I forget steps, and aerating wort is one of those things I've forgotten more than once. Never again!

When I am figuring out my recipe I write up a check list with quantities, temperatures, hops, timing, etc..

I just check off each item and step as I go along. I add to it all the way through fermentation and keep it with the beer in the baskets I store the bottles in.

Heck yes I do. Everything from little dixie cups for the hops to date bottled in the cases. Of course I drink a little beer before I brew and a little more mashing then tons more while boiling and by the time I am done I really do not even remember what I brewed.

Yup I need some notes:D

I keep good notes about each batch such as recipes, amounts, temps, efficiency, and dates, but never thought about doing a checklist. The only things I ever seem to forget are aeration and the whirlfloc. I have a rule not to crack a beer until flameout, so fortunately the forgetfulness doesn't get too out of hand!

Maybe I'll end up like those people who like to write things down and cross them off to feel more productive. 1.) Mash in.... Check!
