Interesting, but I think it's a gimmick. Glass bottles are recyclable, made from sand, and nearly infinitely re-usable.

I can't imagine any long term aging would be feasible in a biodegradable bottle. But, I don't expect Carlsberg to be an aging kind of beer.

I wonder though, how do they get the material to tell the difference between being wetted by the beer & wetted in the ground?

Now if they could make it so that the bottle biodegrades at its expiration date; I have a laundry list of breweries that should be using this...

Would be interesting if they could expand this into a toasted oak bottle for an oak aged concept.
