I'm getting ready to brew my second batch ever, and it will be my first attempt at steeping grains and dry hopping. I'm trying to go for an American IPA with an upfront hop flavor. I'd like a balance of floral and citrus flavors but I'd like to lean towards the floral.

http://hopville.com/recipe/441720/home-brew/stone-ipa-clone I saw this recipe and I think it seems to definitely give me what I want, plus I am a big fan of Stone IPA. It also seems reasonably easy. I'm just wondering if maybe dry hopping 3 different hops will be too much? Any advice?

For most of my APA's and IPA's I use three different varieties for dry hopping (normally 1 oz of each).

Dryhopping with chinook and columbus are going to lend a more aggressive piney / resinous / dank aroma to the beer. If you want citrus, try amarillo, centennial, cascade, citra...

3 oz in 5 gallons is about right for a very aromatic IPA.

I suppose sometimes I associate piney with floral, so I think those two will be sort of what I want, and since it also calls for Centennial dry-hopped I might get some of that citrus too... Thanks for the input.
