It's really close but I keep seeing the C-150 pop up here and there. What's the SRM of Special B?

I brewed up 5 gallons today of the 2nd version
15 lbs 2 row
1.5 lbs special b
1.25 oz chinook @85
1 oz chinook @ 45
1 oz chinook @ 15
1 oz chinook @ 0 steep for 20 min

My og is 1.072 and I'm using wlp007
7.5 gal pre boil
6 gallon batch

I cat wait to see how this compares to the real thing, AB is one of my favorites!

Here is mine which is the real one and which is Homebrew? It's hard to tell them apart alone u would not know the difference but side by side the real thing has something extra in the malt.

I tried to clone it myself a few years ago. After several attempts, I believe I got a pretty close approximation of the malt profile with the following grain bill. I don't recall how close the appearance was. This was a 5 gal batch and I get very good efficiency on my system. YMMV

12.00 lbs. US 2 Row malt
1.0 lbs. CaraVienne Malt
1.0 lbs. CaraMunich Malt
0.5 lbs. Biscuit Malt
0.5 lbs. Aromatic Malt
0.5 lbs. Special B

Just made this yesterday. My grains were a bit old (bought them in April) so I missed the OG and got 1.068, but color is right. And it smells freaking great! It's happily fermenting in the basement now. I'll let ya know how it turned out in a few weeks.

Excited to hear how it goes for you. It's a very tasty recipe for sure.

So as far as taste goes what's the official verdict? Who has it cloned pretty well?

Shoot, I'd say it's 90% there. There's just a specialty malt complexity in the real one that's missing here. Hops and yeast are dead on for sure, though.
