I brewed an exctract kit with speacialty grains. I let my beer ferement in the primary for 12 days. It pretty much stopped bubbling the last 4 days. My FG was suppose to be 1.014 and when I checked it, it was 1.017. I bottled it anyway. If by chance it was not done fermenting will my bottles explode?

FG doesn't mean much unless you've taken consecutive FG readings to determine if the fermentation is complete. It's only Final Gravity when there isn't any sugar left for the yeast to eat.

Amount of priming sugar used is also needed to determine if your bottles will blow.

It was the pre-measured bag from Austin Homebrew...I think it was 3/4 of a cup of corn sugar.

The FG depends on the yeast and can vary so the predicted FG doesn't mean much IMO. If it was done fermenting then you'll be fine. If it wasn't done then who knows? Since the recipe used specialty grains then that would probably give you a higher FG. If you steeped longer or had better extraction than anticipated then your FG could be higher. Best advice now since the beer is already bottled is RDWHAHB:mug:

You're most likely fine. But if it's gonna cause you any worry, keep the beer in a closet just in case.

+1 Taking multiple SG readings to determine the true FG.

Even if it would have dropped from 1.017 to 1.014 had you left it a few more days, that would not be enough to cause danger of bottle bombs, perhaps just a little over carbonation.
