Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with fitting a 3 gallon keg, tank and regulator in the refridgerator. I have a full size fridge but am worried ( actually SWMBO is worried) that it will take up too much space.

Does anyone have any pictures of their 3g keg setup in a fullsize fridge?

Thanks alot. srober1983

How big a tank and regulator? I can take a picture of mine. At the moment, I have a 5# co2 tank and regular sized cornies in there but you could see how big the tank and regulator are. The 3 gallon cornies are shorter than the 5 gallon ones, but not by a lot. If this is going in your regular fridge, I don't think your wife would be happy. To fit a 5# tank and regulator in the fridge required me to take out all of the shelves. I could probably put a shelf in over the top, but it wouldn't even give me enough room for a gallon of milk.

You could keep a shelf above the cornie, though, if you had "modular" type shelves. The 5# co2 tank is 18" tall with the regulator on it.

I think he wants to put the keg in there in addition to milk, eggs, jelly, etc.

With that said I dont think your wife will be able to live with it. ( Mine wouldn't)

I mean it takes up a little space. I think if it is not a double door then yuo may be ablt to notice it more.

See, I feel that if it is a double door then you can slide it on the bottom and in the back, not really altering the shelves too much.

But the standard single door might cause issues in the future with the wifey.

I can just picture my wife saying... sure hun ... no worries. Then 4 weeks down the road she cant fit her Crock Pot in and I am in the bed and all I hear is "Maybe if this Damn keg was in the trash I would have some room":rockin:

So, here is my 2 cents

I DID put up with the nagging for a while but I kept an eye on Craigs list (free section) and finally the day came when a guy was getting rid of his old fridge

Funny story*
The guy tjhat gave it to me was trying to put the handle on the other side and his wife got tired of waiting since he drilled an extra hole and made it impossible to put back on as it was originally. So he gave it away on her behalf.

I just got mine a little while ago. A slight turn of the dip tube and they can go on their side.
I think a 3 gal should work if you have the depth. Which is only about 2 inches more than the 2.5 g. A quick google search and you can find the dimensions.
I'll post a pic of mine in the fridge

A little interweb research says the 3g cornys are 8" diameter & ~18" tall with the connectors (single handle style w/handle removed)

I can put 2 three gallon kegs, tank, regulator, fittings, hoses and 20 lbs of ice in a 70qt cooler.

I have put 6 five gallon kegs and a small CO2 bottle in a full sized fridge.

So I am pretty sure a single 3 gallon keg with CO2 will fit in a full sized fridge. You could probably build a plywood shelf and put 4 three gallon kegs, a 5 lb CO2 bottle, and all the lines under the shelf, with plenty of room for food above.
