Holy hell, munch-man. And I thought I brewed a lot. How do you find the time for that? Are you retired or something? Or does your family just not want you around ;)

I read that there are still 3 or 4 states that its illegal to brew in, Iowa has laws for making wine, but fail to include brewing beer. Since they don't actually come out and say its illegal we brew anyway, but I do try and keep it low key.

If Maryland's laws state nothing about quantity, does that mean I'm free to brew as much as I want?

I think you then run up against the 200 gallon federal limit.

I like this part of Maryland's code though. Considering moving to St Mary's County:

(2) In St. Mary's County, cider or native wines may be sold by the maker thereof without a license.

Dang Bier! I thought I was bad. I'll be at 95 gallons tonight. I didn't get started this year until March though. But you are still close to 100 gallons ahead. I need to double my primary situation to keep up it looks like. :rockin:

Damn, I'm 'only' at 75 gallons since New Years. Then again, I made a promise to SWMBO to take it easy on the brewing since I have accumulated so f'ing much backstock in bottles.

I believe it is 50 a person, 100 per household here in Georgia, at least that is the most up to date information I could find.

That's right.. And as of tonight I will have over 70 gal kegged...:rockin:

My...uh..."friend" isn't retired but he sure looks forward to brewing every weekend. It's kind of become his weekly "golf outing". The guys at Midwest are getting to know "him" pretty well. So is the Fed Ex man...:D

Man's got to have a hobby. I think the switch to 10-gallon batches really kicked it in to high gear...for "him".

Nice work out there. I'm at 50g at mid-year. Be careful out there, the ATF is watching :p.

Doesn't one member of the cloth bust this 100g thing with 4 batches? A congregation is like a big family though.

Impressive Bier!

Some laws were just meant to be broken,.... Repeatedly.

Seriously though, a simple rule for abiding the law:

1. Evaluate logic of the law.
2. Consider The consequenses of breaking it.
3. Make your own damn decision!

I have only been brewing since April. Just looked at the calender, and 19 weeks = 95 gallons! If I was single I would be cut off next week!

Edit*.............. ( i am married and I still might be cut off next week)

Well I guess I am about to reach my legal limit...I am at 45 gallons (50 is limit here).
Good thing SWMBO hasn't even started to brew her beer yet this year.

Nice.

I'll bet your wort chiller works great in Alaska.

Yes, the State of Maryland does not have gallonage restrictions. However, the US Government does require anything over 200 gallons (if there are two adults in the house) to be TAXED.

In Kentucky, it's still illegal to SELL beer (or BMC beer-like beverages) in certain counties. According to that site, it is not only illegal to brew in Kentucky, it is illegal to possess brewing EQUIPMENT.

I still remember crossing county lines to get alcohol... And to think, 20 miles down... Bardstown, the bourbon capital of the world.

I'm at 110 gallons so far this year, so I'm guessing that I'll wind up brewing *exactly* 200 gallons of beer.

Not to worry BrewMuncher my friend. It's like daily fishing limits in Missouri. As long as the ATF folks don't find more than 40 filled corny kegs at your house, you are golden.

I intended never to own more than 39 myself. :D

Well if I brew this week (which as of this moment is still in doubt, I will have made 10 gallons this year.
I'm thinking I might fall under the legal limit by a gallon or two.
Damn I hate this. SWMBO has been getting pissed every time i brew. (or go to the home brew conference, or say I want to go to the GABF) :drunk:

EDIT: :off: rant. Sorry about that.

Just tell her about your friend (me) who's planning on taking his wife on a vaction to the AHA Conference for their fifth wedding anniversary :D You'll seem like a saint!

On the other hand, maybe I can get BrewPastor to renew our vows for us... :D

Hey perhaps we could take a page out of AlGore's playbook for folks like Biermuncher. I'm not going to hit 200 gallons this year probably, so maybe we can start a company to consolidate and sell Homebrew Offsets for those busy beavers who go beyond their limit. :D

I think the only way that'll work logistically is for BierMuncher to pack up all his excess and get it to his subsidiaries, namely, my basement. Yeah, that's the ticket!

I think you have it backwards. We need to get the under-utilized equipment dispursed to locations that can keep the rust off until the rightful owners can get back up to par.

Oh and Rich, we'll need you to turn in your HBT bumper sticker too. ;)

Uhhh, Rich, in order to be a Home Brew Forum Moderator, ya gotta brew some beer dude! :D

Just tell SWMBO how it's gotta go. Your reputation depends on it. :rockin:

This weekend I brewed batch #20. Now 2 batches were 3.5 gallons, so as I see it, I'm at 97 gallons since October last year.

Does the 5 gal of Apfelwien I made sunday afternoon count? If so, 'we' are 102. I like having a roommate so that it's not illegal.
