Thank's, man. I brewed my first batch in 1973. It was not legal, I know.

OK - I got you beat on that one. When I was in college in 1968, my roommates and I brewed a batch. We used a can of malt extract intended for cooking and probably used bread yeast. Fermented in a plastic trash can with just a cloth over the top - no temp. control. Bottled it in quart bottles of Lone Star draft with screw tops. God, that stuff was horrible (but strong)! So bad I never had any interest in home brewing until some friends gave me a kit for Christmas a couple of years ago.

I had an Uncle who brewed and made wine into his late 80's. Boy, was his daughter PO'ed when he bought a brand new Dodge Diesel pickup at age 86. He wanted a reliable truck to haul his grape juice back home from the presser. He died a couple of years ago at age 96

Oh, my gawd, man, I have no idea. A bunch of these young'uns have not a clue how fast it's over. They are still looking at life as an endless highway and they are immortal. Nothing negative there. I was like that, and i'm sure you were too. But I've been fortunate to still be able to enjoy our hobby into my old age. cheers
