Where should I get an inkbird in Canada?

I'm going to be getting a chest freezer and an inkbird but I want to buy the inkbird from a Canadian retailer does anyone know who has them in stock? Also with an inkbird is it really as simple as plugging it into the wall and connecting the freezer to the inkbird and putting the prob into the chest freezer or is there more to it?

I can't tell you a retailer in Canada, but I have 2 different Inkbird controllers. As for connecting them, you plug the Inkbird into the wall socket, plug the freezer into the Inkbird, and set your temp and variance (I have mine set to +3/-3 from desired). That's about all there is to it. If it's wifi, they have an app you can use to easily change temps and variance on your phone. Just make sure you plug the freezer into the cooling plug, because they usually come with a cooling plug and heating plug that activate separately as needed.

Fasten the probe of the Inkbird to the side of the fermenter and put some insulation over the probe. You want to control the temperature of the beer, not the air in the freezer. At times the air might be 5 to 10 degrees colder than the beer as the freezer tries to keep the beer temperature in line.

Although the .ca tag might lead one to think so.
Good shout on the list of retailers though, all the retailers listed are US companies!
Why not look for a canadian-made temperature controller.

OP didn't say he wants to buy Canadian; he said he wants to buy from a Canadian retailer. I could be wrong, but I assume that's to avoid exorbitant shipping costs and import duties.

Buying from a Canadian retailer generates sales tax revenue that stays in Canada. That's true, whether it's Amazon or a local shop.

No he didn't It was a suggestion. No idea if they make these things in Canada or anywhere else outside China, but you never know.
Good luck with your chest freezer @Beer Viking , you could always make eisbier while waiting for your Inkbird to come.

I wish they made these things here like they did 40 years ago... it's difficult to avoid getting political, but if you're old, you'll remember.
And yes: Massive shipping costs and who know what tarrifs might happen before it ships, but sometime in the last 8 years (I don't remember when), our domestic sales tax started figuring more prominently on the dot-CA's of amazon and ebay...As long as the seller has a presence in the .ca, we get the same items cheaper than the .com versions.
