When to add LME or DME

Hey all. Looking for a vote here and perhaps some info. When I star Ted brewing I was told to add the LME and DME at beginning if boil. Then it changed to half at beginning and half towards end. Now it seems things have switched to adding it at the end of boil. What is the consensus of this group? Why the change? Is their major pros and cons to adding the extracts at end rather than beginning?

A lot of people have moved the addition of extracts to near the end of the boil. It helps to get a lighter brew. Here's a thread on it
