I'm thinking about brewing a hefeweizen from a kit, what is the best one to use? And should I use kit yeast or something better?

In NZ we get Coopers (I've never seen a Coopers wheat), Muntons, Brewcraft, Lion and Black Rock. I've heard a lot of wheat kits don't have that 'wheaty' taste that they should have. Is that more to do with the yeast?

I've never brewed a wheat kit, so I can't really help you there. It also depends on your taste buds...Have you had Paulener Hefe? or name a wheat beer you are trying to get the taste from.

They do make a Coopers Wheat, and i have to say its pretty good for a Kit beer.

throw some coriander and orange peel in and it gets better

Have you had Paulener Hefe?

No, I've never tried it. I like Schofferhofer hefeweizen, but I'm not too fussy about trying to make a clone. Just something with a nice wheaty flavour.
