I am brewing a wheat beer for the first time and I am using Wyeast American Wheat Ale. After a week and a half in the primary there is still a layer of foamy stuff on the top. All other ales I have brewed have been foamless after a week in the primary. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing to be concerned with. Use your hydrometer and taste buds to make sure everything is going well. The basic looks of things can be very deceiving.

I'm fermenting a wheat/rye with that strain right now, and it does seem to behave differently than most strains. I plan to just let it go and watch the show. :)

There's no rush. Just step away from the carboy and let it do its thing. I've started doing 3-week primary ferments on all my beers. Gives them plenty of time to batch condition on the lees.
