I am about 20 - 25 batches in to this great hobby and although i use a blow-off tube for every batch i have only actually blown off 3 or 4 times. I did my second all grain this Sunday afternoon. It was Yoopers dfh 60 minute clone. I came in a few points shy at 1.066 and pitched a 2 liter shaken starter of 001. started bubbling at about 5 hours and has been blowing off for about 30 hours now and still going strong! I was wondering how long the blow off type of active fermentation normally lasts or what the longest somebody has had it go for.

longest was also my most recent, almost a solid day. when i sugar dosed this brew a few days later it blew off again for another 12+ hours. lost around .3gal

it is fermenting between 60-69 right now based on temperature in my office which is an add-on to the 1920 house and has no insulation or heating vents. I thought it was odd at these temps especially for this amount. i have probably blown about half a gallon so far.

i ferment around, at least this time of year, 59-64F. it's not uncommon it's a good thing it means you had healthy yeast who enjoyed your wort.
