Alright, so I just made my second AG batch yesterday. First time I used a yeast starter (will never go without this again), and first time using my Haier 7.1 Fermentation Chamber with a Ranco Temp Controller.

So the question is: what's next?

Here's what I'm thinking, and I know everyone's different, and I've seen threads like this before... and love the great advice that comes back.

Here's what I'm torn between:

1- Blichman Burner (using a turkey fryer propane burner)
2- 8 Gallon Megapot (mine is ~6.5 gallons? came as a set with the burner)
3- Stir Plate for yeast starter
4- Pump for stand (i have a gravity fed - tiered wood stand with two coolers)
5- Another freezer to build a keezer (bottling everything)

Thanks!!!

The pot!

But go with a bigger pot, like 15 gallons. Then, you'd have much lower risk of boil overs and have a great pot if you decide to make a larger batch.

If you buy a 15 gallon pot, you'll never outgrow it. Even if you never make a 10 gallon batch, it'll still be fine and you can later use it for an HLT or a MLT if you decide to.

Otherwise, depending on your set up, a pump would be great if you hate heavy lifting. I did it for years, but got very tired of pouring scalding water and then lifting up the MLT to drain to the boil kettle. Now, I have two pumps and it's made my life so much easier. The thing is, unless you're planning on drilling your pot and adding a ballvalve, the pump would have limited usefulness to you I think.
