10 gallons planned for a New Years Day brew day, planning on getting a sour pipeline going.

1.045ish OG, 87% Pilsner, 10% Oats, 3% Acidulated. Aged hops at 60 minutes. Batch Split with English ale yeast and Gigayeast GY027 for primary, then into secondary for pitches of WLP655 and WLP665 to age for a loooong time.

Helles...as soon as I...
A. Finish side by side kegger/ferm
B. Finish single tier stand
C. Finish keggles
D1. Build control panel for system (eherms)
D2. Order electronics, parts, etc. for above
E. Oh screw it, I will likely finish A and do small batch BIAB for now!

Thought you stopped brewing ...

I snuck a brew in just a couple weeks ago, and I will keep sneaking them in when I can. Not like when I was on my "one every three weeks" schedule a while back. I should get one in easy this month, after that, we'll see.

:)

I have several planned. An IPA is up next with Wyeast West Coast IPA yeast which I've never used before. After that A 10 gallon batch of Saison split in 2 Carboys one with Gigayeast Sour Farmhouse blend and the other with Gigayeast Sour Saison blend.

Just got all the ingredients for an Irish Red to brew the first week of January (should be ready for St. Patties day), then late January a Barleywine to put in the Bourbon barrel I just scored, to age for next Thanksgiving/Christmas! Then February an APA to have in early spring for something light (that my "Bud Light" drinking friends might appreciate)! March I'd like to do a Rye IPA as I've really enjoyed the one's I've had. After that I have a plethora of beers I'm itching to try. I'm going to try and do 1+ brews per month just to keep my sanity!!
Cheers :mug:

Planning on doing a couple bigger beers now that it's getting colder out. Got a recipe made out for a weizenbock and I'm planning on doing a Duvel clone. Probably make my first oatmeal stout too.

Had my first New Belgium Black Lager tonight...I might research out a clone for that. Fat Tire just got demoted down a notch on my go to 7-11 beers.

firestone wookie jack clone. Working up to it, its a big beer, costs a lot, and a lot of time and work. But worth it

Not sure yet. SWMBO is pushing for a rye DIPA. I've been wanting to do a Pre-Prohibition style lager (with SF lager yeast) but the mild winter means my basement hasn't cooled down enough to get a good fermentation temp for it.

I dunno about you guys, but any grey areas in my brew agenda literally give me anxiety. I need to know what my next few brews will be more than I need to know when my next meal will be or when to pay my mortgage

I wouldn't go so far as to say I get anxious, but I do try to maintain a steady pipeline while keeping a balance of malty/hoppy, dark/light, and strong/sessionable beers.

Probably go through the recipes as a year end thing. Then try to get a recipe to where I want it while planning late winter/early spring brews.

Maybe work on my basement and get my stuff organized while it is below freezing.

Irish Red. Realized that I somehow have not brewed one yet and as I was searching through my beer fridge last night, I also realized that I have an overwhelming abundance of IPAs and pale ales (both commerical and homebrew). Not necessarily a bad thing, but it'd be nice to have something maltier on hand. Plus, St. Patty's day isn't TOO far off. :mug:

m00ps Sunny D will be my second brew of 2016..

This weekend will be a 3 gallon batch something like
60/15/10/5 hop boil additions adding to 60ish IBU
2-3 ounces in a hopstand at 170F for 30min
Vermont yeast strain from Giga or RVA

IPA - 2-row 82%, C40 3%, Flaked Wheat 15% - 007 the golden hop (6.5% ABV)

Then Kicking around some other ideas for end of January...

IPA - 2-row 92%, C40 3%, Flaked Barley 4% - Nelson Sauvin, Ahtanum, Chinook, maybe a bit of Columbus (5.9% ABV)

DIPA(ish) - Marris otter 89%, C20 3%, Honey malt 3%, Flaked Wheat 5%, -Chinook, Columbus, Citra, Ahtanum +(whole coffee bean added during cold crash) (7.6% ABV)

Grapefruit Sculpin' IPA Clone and then Orange American Wheat found in the recipe section.

Ready for summer so I can go crazy on Saisons.

Bottling a Zombiedust clone tomorrow then waiting a few weeks for my Surly bender clone to finish out.

During this time I am going to start researching and formulating some new original recipes. Getting a bit bored with kids but I'm still dialing in my equipment.

m00ps Sunny D will be my second brew of 2016..

Nice, hope it turns out well. Coincidentally, it will be mine too. It was supposed to be the first, but FedEx delayed shipment on the hops. Stupid flooding. Looks like I'll just have to go with a saison...

Just picked up supplies for a Red IPA using amarillo hops

What's the Red IPA recipe? Been on the search for a good one.

Out of curiosity and laziness from looking it up myself, what's the cost for the hop bill for that recipe? Most of the hops in it I don't keep in bulk. Funny thing is even if they were kept in bulk, it isn't bulk compared to the amount needed for this recipe. Would clean me out!

Well, Tac, next on the ol' Michigan Wolfman's brewgenda is to bottle up the batch of Adventures In Homebrewing Frozen Flames Steam Beer that is currently fermenting in my brewbucket. Due to a noticeable lack of storage space for the moment, I'm stuck brewing and drinking one batch at a time. After I've polished off the steam beer, I'm thinking very seriously about brewing up a porter. I sampled some Deschutes Brewery Black Butte Porter at the store last night and loved the flavor, so I picked up a six pack for later tonight. Another little side project on my brewgenda is pricing out a set up for all grain brewing. I was thinking of purchasing a Grainfather for $799 at my LHBS, but after browsing their website and crunching the numbers, I discovered I can purchase everything I would need for a BIAB set up for right around $420. :mug:

I use Farmhouse brewing supply to get most of my hops, with an occasional big order from Yakima. Farmhouse does 4oz and 1lb packs so it works out much cheaper than youd expect. The 4oz packs are usually $4-6 with very new or scarce hops climbing towards $7 or so. Their 1lb prices are good too. I'd guess the hops for the recipe I posted would run a bit under $30, not including shipping.

Expensive, but worth it IMO to at least try it once. I don't even want to start calculating this newest one that Im waiting on the shipment...

edit: BTW PM me you address, I lost it

I am looking at a clone recipe of Avery's "Ellie's Brown Ale" but I have a big bag of "experimental" hops I got from a member here so I need to make a pale ale with those... or maybe a rye IPA...

If you find one let me know...I love that beer.

Okay, I've decided to see if that Mason jar of Wyeast 1762 in the fridge is still alive. If it is, I'll brew a patersbier with it in a week or so (if not, I'll brew something else)
