really wished I could of made Kane but after FOFA weekend I think my wife would of killed me lol after some early reviews of the bottles I am happy I did not go

Are people not happy with these bottles? I opened a BA Morning Bell Saturday night, and it tasted pretty damn good to me.

I am just a "little creepy"

Probably still less creepy than most.

Text from a friend: "I suppose we all dodged a bullet. Early reports of BA Evening Bell are that it's dog **** and BA Mornjng Bell is a boozy mess."

Ouch.

Didn't go so can't confirm. Hope it's just people being pretentious and lame. Not that those sorts of people exist in the beer world, right? o_O

I'm no chick-a-rooney, but BA Morning Bell tasted, to me, like Morning Bell, with a nice bourbon quality about it. Almost as if it had spent some time in a bourbon barrel. Like, what were people expecting?

That said, I have not yet opened a BA Evening Bell (NO PASTRIES NO CARE), so I can report back after doing so and let you know if its a hot boozy mess that doesn't even have any fried chicken or funnel cake in it.

I would love a plate of fried chicken and funnel cake.

I think the problem might be the lack of multiple adjuncts that people now expect to help hide the bourbon quality behind vanilla, cacao, peppers, cinnamon, and cassia bark.

The fact that Kane had 800 people walk through their doors from a span of 11 until 1:30 is mindblowing, considering notice was given an hour prior to their earlier than normal open.

Does no one else have 1st birthday parties to attend?!?!?!!?!!! o_O:(
No but I had a wife with a 43rd birthday that day so...the result was the same. Although I did take her to Czig Meister's hopfest later that day. Plus my first stop at Twin Elephant after that. So not a bad day.

I mean don't they normally have like 200 people lining up every Saturday morning anyway just *in case* of a release?

I've seen overwhelmingly positive feedback with an occasional complaint of not enough coffee, which isn't terribly surprising. It's hard to imagine a more hyperbolic description of BA Evening Bell than "it's dog ****."

Also factor in that these are potentially/probably the same people who on a line to be on a line and are very into the IPA whalezbro (I just threw up writing that)... which goes along with what Mike said.

seedavid - I will gladly help you try the other bottle. ;)

I've got a bottle of each earmarked for the next WWE PPV hosted by axeman9182. So if you want to see a bunch of oiled up guys shaking their junk around in tights (and wrestling too!), I can make that happen. I can probably bring Tillie as well if having a dog around will help keep you from getting all stabby.

You're a giant meat pie.

TWSS?

I traveled from Pittsburgh to Hamilton, NJ for the wedding of a college friend. Despite promising my wife that this would be a fun, laid back time with old friends and that no trades, releases, or any other beer related shenanigans would be going on, Tired Hands and Kane had to go out and do this to me. I stayed at a friend's house in Philly Friday evening, and was contemplating driving up to Kane by myself, back to Philly to get my wife, and then to Hamilton for the wedding.
