I've actually thought of this on occasion. I have this vivid recollection of my first taste of beer at my paternal grandparents apartment in the Queens, NYC, circa ~1956. It was a Knickerbocker Ale - I can actually visualize the scene, there was some kind of party with a large extended family gathering, everyone dressed up as was the custom of the era, all kinds of amazing Far Eastern appetizers to go with drinks...and I think it was my father's brother who offered me a sip from his can, and in this memory I liked the fizziness but the bitterness was too novel to appreciate...
It's actually a fond memory, even if it is just a figment...
Cheers!
