I will be heading up to Nashville from Florida this summer for a family vacation with my in laws... I will need to drink. What are the must haves and must visits?

I second Yazoo, some good assortment of fine brews. I was there in late January and went to many places.
Blackstone Brewery has a restaurant in town and their brewery was supposed to open a very simple taproom so it may be completed by now. I really enjoyed a number of their beers.
Never got to Jackalope but did have one of their beers and it was also very good. They have a pretty good beer scene going on in Nashville.

In addition to the above, check out Fat Bottom (Ida and Knockout). Also nearby in the 'boro is Mayday (Velvet Hustle and Angry Redhead) and in Franklin is Turtle Anarchy (Portly Stout). If you can get any Calf Killer (Sparta, TN) it is a must try.

TN Brewworks is in Nashville too, their Walk the Lime is worthy of a try.

I'm personally not impressed with yazoo, but there is a awesome burger place called 'The Pharmacy' which has a nice list of German import beers, on draft.

Burgers are always worth investigating!

The Pharmacy is good. They have a Wurst plate that I love. Prepare to wait for a while. I live down the street from there and they have a line for lunch and dinner every night. It's not far from Fat Bottom, though. Mas Tacos, Por Favor is across the street for some of the best tacos I've ever had. My Texan wife eats there every Friday, so you know it's legit.

If you're at Fat Bottom, there is some decent BBQ at a place called Edley's which is adjacent. Not my favorite BBQ, but they do have some good beers.

Yazoo has some solid offerings, but they don't tend to have much 'Wow' factor. Their Hop Project is usually pretty good (they switch up recipes often) and they have a porter named Sue (get it? a Beer Named Sue?) that a lot of people like.

I second Mayday and Turtle Anarchy, both pretty solid from what I've tried. Jackelope's Thunder Ann Pale Ale is a very solid Pale, but I haven't tried much from them. They kind of had a rocky start and I haven't been back.

One place that I haven't seen mentioned is the Corsair distillery. It's located at Marathon Motor Works, which used to be a car factory village but is now shops and restaurants. The Antique Archeology guys have a store there that is worth checking out.

Yep, the Pharmacy is great! Probably the best burgers I've ever had. I've had Palate Wrecker over there, and it was also one of best double IPA's I've ever had.

Well I've made it to Nashville... So far I have been to The Pharmacy and had the farm burger with a little harpeth brewing Vienna lager. Both were good. Might go back there.
I also stopped in at craft brewed to have a beer and bought some fat bottom knockout ipa which was ok decent ipa but not as good as the one I had on tap there. Jubilee was it name can't recall the brewery right now.
Found a little hippie type grocery store that had mix and match 6 packs so built a good sampler to bring home.

Head to yazoo, jackelope, and Tennessee brew works on Thursday. Might try to stop somewhere tomorrow if I can escape the family fun.

Gotta get some princes hot chicken (as featured on brew dogs). Cash only.
Mayday's brews are all very safe. Yazoo is not my favorite. Gerst is good for mowing the yard.
I loved knockout @fat bottom, but they have started canning it locally and it's changed. Different hop schedule/selection.
Blackstone has some great brews. Hopjack is awesome.

jubilee has Randy's IPA and one other. Randy's IPA is contracted brewed by Mayday. Their other beer is contracted brewed in KY.

:mug:

If you can find turtle anarchy's Another Way to Rye you should try it. One of my favorite beers at the moment. I have not been impressed by any of fat bottoms beers. Yazoo is okay. Jackelope has great products but not a lot of variety. Their thunder Ann is one of my favorite pale ales. Tennessee brew works is a cool spot with some great beers. If you are going to tour one I would do yahoo since it is the biggest

Heading out to fatbottom shortly. May try to hit another spot but I'm solo tonight and driving so likely only a sample flight.

It was a very nice taproom. Food was good too. All of the regular beers were pretty standard fare and decent. The small batch apa they had just tapped was a struggle to finish unfortunately.

Maybe some of the Nashville locals can update, but several years ago we went to the Broadway Brew house, I believe now it is the west location as there is now 5 locations. They had decent Cajun food and a wall full of taps. They say they have 100 beers with 25 on tap.
