I'm a new dad, a new homeowner and no stranger to a tight budget. So when I was able to squeeze $25 out of the paycheck my first thoughts were obviously, "What should I brew?" I have 1oz of Columbus and some washed 1056 American Ale yeast on hand and both are very versatile ingredients. The sky is the limit but what are your thoughts?

I was faced with a similar dilemma when I bought my house 2 1/2 years ago. I brewed a hoppy blonde ale, home-toasting 2# of the malt in my oven to give it a bit more flavor. If you brew AG, just buy 10# of malt (toast some yourself), and an extra ounce of hops, and you should be good.
