I have several beers kegged right now. They are all big hoppy beers and 1 Belgian Strong Ale. I want to brew something lighter for the summer, hopefully to have ready for July 4th so no lagers. A pool party with friends is coming up and I would love to take a keg.

Please kick out some suggestions for me. There are so many choices, I can't decide. Lighter in color, not hugely hoppy and not overly heavy but great tasting. That being said, I also do not want to brew a BMC clone and something a little different from a Belgian Whit. Thanks for your thoughts.

A kölsch would be a great summer brew, and probably well liked by the BMC crowd. I plan on brewing one myself this summer. A blonde would also be a great choice, light in color, low in hops, perfect for the summer!

Kolsch sounds good and it is on my "To Do" list. I thought it might not make it by my July 4th deadline.

I just found BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde. It too sounds good and he states he can go from grain to the glass in about 2 weeks, kegging of course.

TR,

I might suggest a Raspberry Hefeweizen. That is a very refreshing beer for hot summer days IMO. Good luck.

Planned: Dunkelweizen
Brewing: None
Bottled: Brown Ale, Holiday Ale, Raspberry Wheat, Espresso Porter, Belgian Triple, Bavarian Hefeweizen

Honey Wheat or a Honey Rye. I'm brewing the latter next weekend. I have an AG recipe if you' like it.

You can try an American Wheat as well. It might be hop-forward, but it would be done pretty quick as well, and still a refreshing brew.

I did a Watermelon Kolsch which is a big hit among my friends right now.

Also did a Prickly Pear Honey Blonde, which is still conditioning. The week-out sample bottle was good, a bit on the sweet end and little head. It'll age fine... I love to see how a batch ages over the weeks.

Kolsch or Blonde get my vote. :rockin:
