what SMASHs have you tried? which have been your favorites?

I've done loads of SMaSHes, all with Maris Otter...

Amarillo - awesome.
Sterling - meh.
Fuggle - meh.
Perle - awesome.
Northern Brewer - good.
Cascade - good.

All mine were with Maris Otter as well...

Amarillo - Agreed.. Awesome as an APA

Williamette - Very good, brewed to ordinary bitter guidelines

Vanguard - very good, brewed to blond/cream ale guidelines

any suggestions what smashe combinations i make?
available grains: marris otter, canadian(cmc) pale, vienna
available hops: cascade, amarillo, mt hood, columbus, magnum

ill probably aim for OGs of 1.060
hop schedule(nochill): FWH, 15mins, dryhop to around 30ibu

Best I've made in the last year of brewing my own is a MO and EKG bog standard pale ale. It's unfussy and tastes like the classic (obvious UK bias...) pale ales should.

Im slow carbing mine right now. Do you recall your OG and hop schedule?

OG was 1.042, but my target was 1.050. Had terrible efficiency that day, bad crush.

Hop Sched was...

1/4oz at 60,1/2oz at 20 & 2 about 35 IBU's. If I do it again I'll target 1.060 and 50 IBU's.

My OG was 1056, and I had .5 oz @ 60 , .5oz @ 30 , .5 oz @ 1 (24 IBU)

I was going for balanced, and blond style guidelines. It didnt showcase the Simcoe as much as I was hoping.
