Howdy, all.

Years ago, in Dunkirk, NY, the Fred Koch Brewery made something called "Wutrzberger", and has been described as 'an old-fashioned German Beer'.

Anybody know what this Wutrzberger is, or could be? It's my understanding that it was made pre-18th Amendment, but didn't return to the brewery's lineup after the 21st.

Thanks in advance for your insight!

Wurzburger is a German brewery that does make a very good pils. I think it was imported by A-B back in the 1980s in the early stages of the Craft Beer Revolution. Likely Koch's brew was a German pils style given a Teutonic name to enhance its appeal.
