As we are cutting up some of my old t-shirts to make into rags for some remodeling we are doing, I realized that those t-shirts aren't even close to being the oldest I have.

One of the shirts getting cut up is about 12 years old, but I have one that I know for sure is at least 15 years old because I have a picture from 1995 of myself wearing that shirt. I have another that I know is at least 18 years old. I know this due to it being an obscure band shirt which is a misprint from the first run of shirts from my friend's record label which started no later than 1992. And I have another band shirt from a band that changed their name 1991, so I have to imagine that one is getting near 20 years old.

Other than shirts, I have a pair of sandals that I still wear nearly every day that I bought on a trip to Florida with my then-GF (now wife) that took place over New Years 2000, that I bought for $5. Probably the best value I've ever gotten from anything I've ever bought in a store.

Wow this is a good question and original thread topic!

It's hard for me to say for sure, but off the top of my head I would have to say my high school football jerseys, which I still wear when I play football at least 3-4 times a year, are the oldest things I still wear. They are from 1993. I just recently threw out a suit I realized was from 7th Grade (1991), but I never really wore that. I have Army gear that I wear all the time (wearing the pants now). I was in the Army from 1998-2001.

I have a jacket from the late 80's that I still wear and, no, it is not Members Only, thank you very much. I was never cool enough to have a sweet Members Only jacket!!! :) I'm also pretty sure that I have a few t-shirts and even some polo style shirts that are pushing twenty years.

I have a powerhouse gym t-shirt from 1990 that I still wear once in a while, I have a t-shirt from my LHBS from 2003, not very old compaired to other things I have, but I didn't start brewing until 2009! I got the shirt at the Great Arizona Beer Festival in 2003 because I liked the slogan, turned out they got their taps pulled because after enjoying a few beers themselves, they started tossing shirts to women in the crowd for flashing the homebrewers.

couple tshirts and 1 button up that I still wear from junior year in 98-99. The t-shirts were worn in highschool by my stepdad in the 70's if that counts.

I think the oldest thing I wear is an old Addidas hoodie from 97 or 98. I wore it today in fact.

I've got a Phish Summer Tour 1995 that's in the rotation. I also have a hockey jersey from my men's league team in '91. The "Screamin' Beavers".

My Navy -issue construction boots from when I was stationed on a floating drydock in San Diego: 1977 vintage. Steel shanks, heels, and toes. Ugly as it gets, but I've seen someone drop a 100 lb can of anti-fouling paint on their foot and it only cut the leather.

I've got some T-shirts from college (1970-1974), but don't wear them much. They are getting thinner and I'm not.

Between moving around a lot (college, then graduating and changing jobs) and my parents house burning down, I doubt I own anything older than say 2005 anymore. I think I have a T-shirt from the early 90's, but I never wear it. My wife owns some of her grandmother's jewlery, which I'm guessing could be fairly old.

I do shave with razors from the 70's though!

I have a pair of Lucky Brand jeans that have been with me for 9 years. I love them but they are almost dead. The knee is torn out, and the fabric is so thin it feels like paper. The day I get rid of them will be a sad one in my life.

I have a Gibson T-shirt with a Les Paul Custom on the back of it that I got on a family vacation when I was a kid, must have been 11 years old, that would make that shirt 16 years old, I still wear it as a sleep shirt about once a week...its pretty much paper thin and full of holes.

I've got a couple of t-shirts from college golf tournaments I played in (charity scholarship fun tourneys, I'm not that good) dated '95 and '96. I still have but rarely wear a t-shirt from the 1992 Indiana high school state swim meet. It's so soft now I'm almost afraid to wash it.

I have a few old punk t-shirts from the late 90s that are still floating around. Nothing like seeing your GF in your old beat to sh!t Rancid tee, with more holes than it has ink.

I had a hed(PE) / Jagermeister shirt that I wore for over 8 years. I loved that damn shirt and some A$$h0l3 stole my luggage off of a plane I was on.

Still F'ing pissed about that.

My coverall's. My (ex)stepdad gave me an extra set of his when I was 14 and went to his folks to help split wood. I have them in my truck today. 20 years ago this winter and they have many years left in them. As long as the homebrew doesn't add to many more lb's anyway.

A sweater I got as a Christmas present in 1990 from the then GF. I've got pictures of a bunch of my ex's wearing them. Current Lady threatens to throw the sweater out every time I wear it. She's never put it on though.

Damn, you've got to find a good way to get her to wear it for a picture. Tradition is a great thing.

Wait until the next time she is smashed and put it on her while she is sleeping.

She'll love you for it. :D

It won't fit her, her ****s are too big. For the sweater, that is!

I'm sure you could make it work. The picture would be very very funny.

Actually, you could just put it over her chest (not actually wearing it). The idea of having it in a picture over her would be classic enough.

I was looking in my closet this evening and noticed that a couple of my button-down shirts are actually pretty old. I have one that has been in my possession since 1989 or so, and the other one since...before then. Not sure exactly how long but maybe 1987 or 1988?

Totally crazy that I can still even fit into them.

I have a few ties from the late 90s I've kept in my closet because you never know when you'll need a really ugly tie. I also have a pair of workout pants that are about 7 years old that I still wear. Otherwise everything in my closet is about 5 years old or less.
