I am going to brew my first lager and want to know the best way to keep it at a set cold temperature? I was going to use my deep freeze and purchase a temperature regulator for it but don't know which one to purchase. Any suggestions?

I have a few fridges, a chest freezer and a couple of analog Johnson controllers. I also use a water bath out in the brew shed in the winter (early spring spring and late fall it works for ales.)

The already mentioned Johnson Controls and Ranco units are the ones most used by homebrewers. But any controller rated for 115v would work. I just hooked up my JC today and its working great. Nice to have that level of temp control finally.

Im using my basement, cooler and frozen ice bottles.Perfect for keeping in the 50's.I also have started my first lager, just did a steam though just to see the difference with S-23 dry yeast. Im also in the process of gettin another fridge ill probably put my old one in the basement and get a temp regulator later on.I just have too much beer stocked up, i can never get a chance to chill any down for very long having one fridge, and a constant supply of new beers i try.
