Okay, so I assumed these were juniper berries, until I saw some actual juniper berries which were bluer and rounder. I google image searched juniper berries and didn't find these, but then i googled lumpy juniper berries and found unofficial sources referring to these same berries as juniper berries.

They are kind of waxy on the outside, green, and when cut or crushed they smell like evergreens. They are growing on an evergreen bush in my front yard.

Anyway, I'm sure someone on HBT will know. What are these and can I put them in my beer?

I have the same type of berries growing on a tree at my house as well. Definitely don't look like juniper berries or a juniper tree after looking at pictures on Google. I can't seem to find an image of the ones we have either.
