Comments in other threads show that a variety of "ingredients" unintendedly make it into our mash or wort (in one posted today alone, folks told of a child sneezing into the mash and a screwdriver falling into wort). I am no exception. Three batches ago, I dripped dirty dishwater into my wort just before bottling. The IPA came out great.

What has fallen, dropped, blown, crawled, or otherwise invaded your brew, and how did it come out? Share your story.

Yep, my kid sneezed into the mash. In a couple of weeks, I'll find out!
Course, if it tastes great, nobody will be the wiser. If it tastes like crap, I can blame the kid!

So if the sneezey beer is good are you going to keep your kid out in the cold a few days before brewing again to properly replicate it?

dog hair from both my Siberian Husky and my German Shepherd have ended up in most of my beers.

Mike McDole's secret ingredient is some hair from his dog, and he won the Longshot, I bet your dog hair beers are awesome.

Only thing I have ever unintentionally dropped in is my stribar while pouring in my yeast starter, then I forgot about it and dumped it out with the trub after the beer was finished and had to fish it out of the disposal.

I had just filled the conical turned my back to grab the yeast and I hear thump thump plop... My 1 year old grandson threw a couple of the dogs tennis balls over the gate at the top of the basement stairs they hit a few stairs bounced off the wall and one landed in the IPA .... turned out great .

Balls to the wall IPA was born

While waiting for my wort to cool and also trying to oxygenate it, i was stirring it with the spoon I used during the boil. I sat the spoon on the edge of the bucket, and in it went. I just reached in there and fished it out. We'll see how this one turns out, but everything is looking great so far!:mug:
