I agree, temperature controlled fridge for fermentation. That or a mash tun, if you don't have the means to make/use a kegerator.

Temperature control. It could be as simple as a swamp cooler to a walk in room.

Next, stirplate.

Temperature control and proper yeast pitching are the best ways of making good beer brewing into better beer brewing.

I agree with most on here. Temperature control is the thing that will make the most imediate improvement on your beer, so top priority. Next would be the ability to make a starter (stir plate) and third would be the ability to do a full boil. Once you get those three things under your control you will almost have to try to make a crappy batch of beer...

Temperature controller... you will need these for fermentation chambers, keezers... etc.

See my signature. ;)

kegerator. I used to brew and just got tired of the bottling. I just moved into the world of cornelius kegs and couldn't be happier about the decision. Sooner the better...

I went with the kegerator because I couldn't stand bottling. Craigslist is your friend for that one. Free fridge, free junk kegerator (that I was able to pull the parts off of), good price cornies.

then I went cooler mash tun to go all grain

I'm pretty lucky to have a spot in my house that has very consistent temps 24-7. I do have it on my list to do though but busy building a brutus 10 style rig :)

I went with a keezer. Far less cumbersome then having hundreds of bottles laying around, let alone time saved.

My personal next is probably going to be a ferm chamber.
