What do I need to do to get my kegerator up and running

I have a used kegerator that came with a CO2 tank it has one tap. Since I am a first time kegger, what do I need to do to get it up and running? I'm thinking like replacing lines, disassembling the tap to clean and sanitize etc.

But the most important thing to do is get some CO2. And... I feel like I’m forgetting something.

I agree, I'd take it apart and give it a good cleaning and perhaps replace the lines that liquid runs through. Alternatively, run some hot PBW through it, followed by a good rinsing with hot water. Did the kegerator or the CO2 canister come with a regulator? Do you have the connector you need to connect to your keg? Then enjoy some beer!

Agree with all of the above. As a follow-up to Pappers, if it did come with a regulator (which I am assuming it did based on everything else it came with), I would suggest rewrapping the male connections with plumbers tape to help prevent any potential leaks. Also, before charging your first keg and pouring, definitely do a leak test to make sure all of your connections are tight and good to go. Worst thing in kegging is a flat pour due to a CO2 leak. Especially on a holiday weekend when no place is open. Cheers.
