I doubt chicken gizzards and hearts get much love here. But I make a tasty gizzard/rice stew once in a while, and today seemed like the day for it.

I love fried chicken livers with blue cheese dressing. Yum!

Last night salad, chicken schnitzel, left over hash browns. Rewarming the hash browns in a covered dry pan retained the crispness of the potatoes. (Terrible picture of hash browns.)

I dont do liver but i love fried gizzards and hearts. I got really sick after overeating a bunch of rumaki and now just the smell makes me gag.

Ive made soup before with gizzards but to me there is a funky taste unless you can get them super fresh. Soaking them in rice wine overnight helps a huge amount. Spicy stews/soups/gumbos work the best for gizzards IMO.

My favorite little hole in the wall Chinese place goes through hundreds of pounds of gizzards a week. Its in a rough neighborhood but its worth it. His fried gizzards are the bomb and for $7 you get a massive amount of them.

His special chicken wings are killer too. Never had anything like these before and cant find any recipes that come close.

I had needed something quick and easy for dinner. Linguini with pasta sauce from a can with added meat and mushrooms.. Toasted French bread with provolone cheese.

Made a Lobster Bisque base while working around the yard today.

Two lobsters bodies, shells from the past six or seven shrimp purchases, garlic, onion, carrot, tomato paste, smoked paprika, cayenne, brandy and a pinch of love. Sautéed till fragrant then simmered for a few hours. I thumb my nose at tradition and use a roux instead of rice.

The base will be finished with lobster meat, cream and butter with a garnish of tarragon just before serving.

Anyone else try the Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute? We don't have a local Trader Joe's, but my uncle was raving about the stuff so I tracked it down and I am pretty impressed!

I don't think I have ever had a seasoning with so much flavor but no added salt.

My BIL has worked for them since Christ was a corporal. All (most) of their stuff is quite good.

No, but I'll certainly look for it.
