Sent in 10 labels! Sweet, huh?
How'd you remove the labels without fully destroying them and can anyone just send in 10 labels?
I just looked that up. Great, now I have to save 5,000 vials! :drunk:
Why 5,000? 10 labels = 10 vials.

It does have the round at the bottom. Nice and thick compared to my 8 gallon pot. You are right about the location of the thermometer, 5.5 gallons gets it covered. I am now considering what to do inside; bazooka tube, dip tube or other DIY. I use a hop spider so I am mostly interested minimizing loss. I'd welcome opinions.

:mug:
If minimizing loss is your thing, dip tube and whirlpooler?

Now I really can't wait for spring!

I Dont think you have to remove the labels, you can send the vials back as well. 5,000 vials gets you Chris White to come brew with you!

I'd take the labels off - the vials are way too useful to send back :D

I would guess an oxi-soak will get them loose and I think it is a foil label so it shouldn't fall apart. But I haven't actually tried to remove one so that is my speculation.

Oxyclean disolves the ink. Just peel them off.

I just give them a water soak for a bit. The paper softens and you get at least the top half without tearing. Havent sent any in yet though.

I picked one of these up at my local hardware store. works pretty well at getting a bit more out. A Pickup tube could also be used.

Shipping only the labels is also REALLLLLLY cheaper than shipping the vials. :)

NOT my new f'ng brew kettle...last update from UPS, left Jersey on the 5th and scheduled for delivery today. Rat bastards....

Color me jealous!
It is awesome. It is funny because I forgot how uncomfortable the DC controller were but it came with two other third party controllers. Also, there is Quake, a hockey came, a tennis game, and even football. There are other games, but those are the ones that are most memorable to me. That keyboard came with it to so I could use the Sega internet.

Tell you what, once it loses it's appeal, if I decide I don't want it, I'll pay it forward and see who is interested in it here. Right now, I'm brushing up on my taxi driver skills.

Correction, it is mhurst111, missed a 1.

Oh, and by top half, I mean top layers. you leave about a layer of paper and the sticky glue stuff (which can be removed easily with a little WD-40).

Honestly I think it's just a weight that pulls on the sensor blade which enables it to figure out the gravity. You can't really see the temperature sensor, it's the think cable that is wrapping around the carboy and attached to the side of the carboy.

Either way, it looks like an awesome product if it accurately works. Can I ask how much it was? The website doesnt say much about it.

My fermwrap finally showed up. My fermentation chamber mini-fridge is now complete.

MoreBeer Pliny the Elder kit. Plan on brewing it this weekend. Really excited since I can't get the real thing here in South Dakota. That means I'll never know how the kit compares to the real thing, but as long as it tastes good, who cares? While browsing the MoreBeer site for some other stuff today, I noticed that the Pliny kits were sold out. Guess I ordered just in time! :)
