That’s the problem when we all discuss “Oktoberfest” beers. There are so many different beers ranging from the crisp blonde festbiers to the dark copper colored Märzens. The Oktoberfest I brew is a semi-traditional dark malty Märzen. My last batch looked like this…

If mine skirts on that color, ill be more than happy. I'm worried that it will be in that dark brown bock territory but if it tastes good, I can generally look the other way. My first ale fermented batch was a beautiful golden/amber color and I was chasing that, but for whatever reason I grabbed Carafe II instead of the light color pale chocolate that I use for color adjustments.

HB Double NEIPA (8.0%) with Columbus, Citra, Riwaka, and Nelson. This hop combo is da bomb. No more sunlight for beer porn pics but garage pics by the keezer with bad fluorescent lights will have to suffice lol.

On another note, do any of the regulars here have any tips for good spots in Seattle, WA? I’m heading there next week for a work trip so I’m looking for good food and drink, especially on the company’s dime.

Another HB Pilsner.
I just entered it in the Rocky Mountain Homebrew Challenge as a 5D German Pilsner. I’m tempted to send another 3 bottles and enter it in the 3B Czech Premium Pale category also to see how the scores and judging notes compare.
Good idea, bad idea?
My Vienna lager will be going too.

HB Lawnmower Blonde in a fancy glass. I still can’t taste anything, so proper glassware seems unnecessary. I kegged this beer about 5 days ago and still have no idea about how it tastes. All I get is “cold and fizzy”. Considering that it’s harvest time and the work days last about 2 hours longer than I have enough energy for, cold and fizzy is good enough.

What a horrible time to be inflicted with the ‘Rona if that’s what you have. At least your symptoms seem to be somewhat mild. Feel better.

This after an experimental brew (well new to me). The Veil’s Master Shredder 4, seems a bit green, a harsher bitterness than I would expect for being almost a month old.

I love Fremont and Georgetown beers. I dont know if they have food options.

By coincidence I have those same three category entries lagering right now for a September comp. Also a Helles Bock and a Blonde Ale. First time I've had four lagers simultaneously going for a single competition. I'm anxious to hear how you do. Good luck!

Bayern Märzen. A “reference beer” for the Märzen I’m brewing tonight. I have a couple more of these in the fridge to compare the finished product to in 6 weeks, or so.

This beer was excellent. They did a great job of balancing the coffee Bean flavor and Bourbon barrels. I highly recommend it!! The privada cigar goes well!

Many many many, maybe not in Seattle Proper but close by. I live in the South End (about 30 miles south of Downtown). Most of the local pubs in Seattle have a great variety of the local breweries offerings. Georgetown tasting room does not have food, but there are always food trucks around. Pike Brewing has a spot in the Pike Place Market (you NEED to go to the Market at least, it's a must-see). I'll think on it some and get back to you tomorrow, we just got home from trip to Boston and we are TIRED.
