My very first taste of mead.

A HB short metheglin. 6%, carbed at 2.0vol. Steeped Tension Tamer tea and a bit of light English crystal. Pleasant aroma, honey and sweet herbs. Strong honey flavor with some medicinal notes. Not solventy medicinal, herbal medicinal. Only a week in the bottle, pillowy carbonation but still green.

Had a clogged line on one of my beers, still not sure what's up, but drank the foamy dregs while I tried to solve the problem. I mean, why waste good beer, no?

Tomorrow, maybe I can do the same? Maybe repeat until the keg is empty?

Was afraid what to open this but pleasantly surprised. Bought it a long time ago for the 3l bottle and finally getting around to opening it. Nice lacing. Not much carb. Malty and smooth. No off flavors. Pound able in this cold.

Thanks @TheDudeLebowski for this aged bottle (8/11/17). I think I like Orval better with some age more than a year a little more.
Kids put out cookies and carrots for Santa and his furry crew.
