Had a little blizzard here yesterday and now I’m ready for better weather. Patience has worn pretty thin this week because of weather and people in general. Home now and hitting the kegerator. HB Irish Red Ale. I wish it would clear more so everyone could see how good it looks.

Utopias version 1. 17.5% abv. Nice barley wine. Unfortunately it’s flat.

I was the big winner in hedbanz, but completely fell flat on pineapple. I had a fruit we had in the house. Just couldn’t get there. Amused everyone with my denseness

Whoa. That's pretty incomprehensible. How many of those have you had?

No you are screwed. Family Monopoly... oh bad memories.

Day 10. I stole candy from the children’s bag. They owed me.

Needed to go big. HB Club Wee Heavy. I can taste the alcohol and right now that is good.

My wife and I got our @$$es kicked by our 10 year old. ‍♂️ ugh!

When I made the utopias, I wussed out and bottled half at 17.5%. That’s U1. I had one of them before that game. Here’s the U2, my math says 22%. I think the U1 is better. I would prefer If it had a little carbonation.

Back to the game. You put a card in a headband that everyone else can see you get to ask yes or no questions. First to guess what they are wins the round. I had pineapple. I quickly found out that I was a fruit that we had in the house. And we had 5 fruits in the house. I wasn’t an apple, orange, grape or berry. And I couldn’t remember we had a pineapple. It was much funnier in person. Well at least it was funny to my wife and child, at my expense. If this was still incomprehensible, I will quietly sip my 22% cordial/beer and keep my mouth shut until I wake up hungover tomorrow.

Ok. That's new to me. We played dodgeball or Monopoly.

Ordered takeout dinner from local Humdinger Brewing. They're selling cans, crowlers, growlers, and food for take out only. Food was really good, desert was next level. Also grabbed a 4pk of their neipa Fog Crusher. This one is their Imperial Porter, Roast Coaster, which I grabbed last week.

Does anyone have a recipe and instructions for a small batch kettle sour? I’m thinking I may give it a shot with my Instant Pot (8qt) one of these weekends since they are now free for the foreseeable future. Although I’ve never made a kettle sour before and I need to continue reading about them more.

Text message incoming with the one I just made. Delicious. I can send the brewing notes later If you’d like.
