Drinking water right now. I remember Lowenbrau being our beer of choice on prom night.

First taste of HB Hoegaarden. Taste is very good, needs another week. Slightly over carbonated. Will move them to the cooler.

I honestly think I could scream at my manager and team leader for the hell they put me through by short staffing... that amount of stress is what put me in the damned hospital months ago and I just love palpitations at work.

That is a GOOD LOOKING beer! I'm assuming there's a recipe posted on here somewhere?

I started off with a Southern Tier Tangier. Solid easy drinking citrusy IPA.

I'm ending the night with the Breckenridge Nitro Vanilla Porter. This is a delicious beer! Despite the name, there is virtually ZERO vanilla flavor. Honestly, this tastes more like Guinness on tap than Guinness Draft cans do. The nitro gives it a silky smooth mouth feel and the barley malts really shine through in this to leave you with a clean cereal - almost oatmeal - finish with the slightest touch of sweetness. Maybe that's the vanilla? I don't know. But this beer is good and - as advertised - sessionable.

Supposedly Orfy's Hobgoblin Clone (ii). It looks and tastes sort of like a porter.

I remember when I got home from the LHBS I took a look at the receipt and thought that they over charged for the chocolate malt. Now I realize they didn't over charge, they actually gave me too much. I had wrote the recipe down on a posted note before going to the LHBS. I just handed the guy the note and asked him to run the grain through twice since I brew BIAB. I no longer have the note so I don't know who's fault it is that I got too much chocolate malt. I could have wrote it down wrong for all I know.

Tastes pretty good though so I'm not really complaining.

Yup, and the kicker is that it is actually ok! It's not some disgusting swill. Aldi actually has several brews on hand, at least the ones by me in Joliet. Generic brands, but red, belgian wit, ipa, this maibock, and a handful of other brew as well. It may be worth checking it out.

Oh, uh, my last was a Revolution Rev Pils. No pic. That was several hours ago.

The IPA was pretty good, had that one. Just wish they still had the Wernesgruner pils though. That was good. The Cervesa from Guatemala is darn good too! Not skunked like the Mexican stuff, even though it comes from further south? Starting on second coffee while contemplating honey-do's around the house that gotta get done today...

Finishing second coffee while doing further research on Mumme (moo-muh). I was shocked to find that the version I found the recipe for, being English from 1695, is a gruit ale knock-off! The original German festival ale was a highly hopped strong ale! Dammit, now I'll have to figure out the hops & brew the German version!? At least, it'll be a bit easier, using hops in the boil?! Oh darn, another version to make a recipe for! ;)
