Some people like it aged, I never understood why. In my opinion, fresh is best with that one.

As a rule, I don't age anything with coffee or coconut more than a few months. I aged a BCBCS for a year and wished I didn't, so much better fresh. I think coconut ages out faster than coffee. YMMV.

I agree. Aging something with adjuncts like coffee, vanilla, etc. defeats the whole purpose of the beer.

@blizzard every room in our house was covered with that s***. Took me forever to realize there's no way of getting around it get a wet rag and get to it

@mhurst111 happy birthday!

You get much Persian food there in TX? I find that surprising.

I don't know the name of the dish (lamb, basmati rice, dill, fava beans) but it's damned good.

You can find any cuisine your heart or stomach desires in Houston.

Lol I also find that surprising, but my experience with Texas is admittedly very limited (drove through that upper part once, never want to do that again).

People out of state tend to think of TX as a whole as some backwoods, country redneck of a state. Met a guy about 10 years ago that was visiting for the first time and was surprised to see we don't all ride horses everywhere and draw all our water from a well. And he was dead serious.
This state is so huge that there's a little bit of everything, though. The Houston area alone is made up of so many different cultures. There are actual neighborhoods where the street signs aren't even in English. (Which I don't agree with, but that's an argument for a different time and place)

I've heard Austin is interesting, but I tend to hear of even Houston and Dallas being backwoods country redneck as far as cities go. Glad to hear that's not the case.

Celebration. Watching Pitch Perfect 2 with the wife. Anna Kendrick, enough said.

She's hot in a very weird way, but hot nonetheless. Not sure I'd subject myself to the torture that those movies likely are just for her, but hey, I've probably watched a lot worse for a lot less.

Austin is a neat city to visit once in a while. But, there are too many weirdos and hipsters for my liking.

I enjoy weirdos. Hipsters I can't deal with. Around here there's a lot of the latter and not enough of the former.

OT, another NYFRB. Go look at the previous pic, not like it's the same can or anything.

This is mouth puckering.
Happy Birthday to me.

Happy (belated) Birthday Mike!

Any good? I remember reading about them before they opened.

Had a bottle of my quad earlier. This is the first bottle I have tried since reyeasting a 6-pack with some champagne yeast. After 6 months, they were all completely flat. Champagne yeast seems to have fixed that after about 6 weeks. It is no longer flat sweet booze-tea. @finsfan I think I sent you one of these - should be good to go whenever.

How did you do this, uncap, inject with a bit of hydrated yeast and recap or did you pour them all back into a bucket to mix with the yeast?

Water, Monday's don't suck as bad on really short weeks.

Uncap, sprinkle dry yeast, recap, shake.

Coffee. Just mashed in.
