Tit happens when your fingers are too big for your phone ;)

Yep, it goes up Saturday and for the first time in a couple of years the weather looks like it will cooperate and be perfect. I'll be there helping the scouts sell hot chocolate and baked goods.

Nice! That's a little late for my boys. Maybe in a couple years

Coffee. Trying to explain to my boss that it's entirely possible for AT&T to dispatch a tech, and for that tech to not understand that he has to ask someone to unlock the DMRC room, and for him to leave the ticket open until he figures out how to get in.

It's happened before.

You lot were busy last night.

Took a legit sick day from work. My entire respiratory system is on fire. Got dinner in the slow cooker, ate leftovers from last night for breakfast, along with Hobson's Postman's Knock (tasty but no consistency between bottles any time I get it) and now another Robinson's/Iron Maiden's The Trooper. No pic because I'm lazy.

I figure it's a good excuse today to finish the Mild Ale book I'm most of the way through, and then, Tonsmeire's American Sour Beers that's been on the shelf unread. If I don't fall back asleep first. Which I probably will.

Coffee, thinking about getting another.

Work bowling event tonight. Not expecting much in the way of good beer.

Why so much whey protein instead of food?

I've been doing some weight lifting to try to get all my muscles working again. So, I guess it's more like strenuous PT. After that I'm hoping to get back to running/trail running. I'll be starting on the treadmill because I'm a running wuss and it's winter. I can't seem to make myself work hard enough in a gym to make weights my primary exercise, but maybe that will change after a few treadmill sessions.

Brooklyn Oktoberfest.

"So much" and "instead of food" is a little bit exaggerated. With how much work I've been doing, I need the protein. I basically have a shake every morning along with fruit, and then immediately after every workout. It's enough to keep me at about the max amount of protein my body is able to utilize (any more just gets flushed out). Getting the same amount of protein solely from other sources ends up being much more calorically dense (among other things). I do still eat a fair amount of protein from other sources though (mostly lean white meat), but it's a lot of fruit and veggies and dark leafy greens. I guess it's more "on top of" and not "instead of" food.

Probably the best thing brewed by DC Brau. Which isn't saying much. But it's tasty.

Haha that hat has been with me for awhile now. Cant believe i havent lost it yet.

Hey man.. you don't have to bring it, but when you start crying that your ears are cold.. you get your choice of Buffalo Bills winter hat. The red and blue knit hat with the pom-pom thing on top. You like the Bills, right?

Nothing, having a hurry up and wait day at work. Wife has a work thing tonight so it'll just be the baby and me tonight putting lights on the Xmas tree.

Rexy is my favorite. :)

I can handle the cold pretty well. I dont mind being bundled up and actually enjoy when theres a nip in the air. KS winters can suck due to the wind though.

A week and a half ago I made a 5 gallon batch of stout. Real simple grain bill.

5.5 lb 2 row
1 lb Crystal 120
1 lb oats

Well I had about 2 quarts that didn't fit the carboy so I fermented them seperatly with K1-V1116, a wine yeast killer strain. I also added 1 quart of invert sugar, just for a fun side experiment.

I'm inking it now as I bottle it.

So weird. It does NOT taste like stout.

It DOES taste heavy of dark stone fruit. Specificly plum. That must be a yeast contribution.

It's interesting, but I'm glad I used a proper Scottish yeast for the 5 gallon.

Rexy is my favorite. :)

He is pretty ridiculous, though I expected more entertainment out of him this year. It's funny that we haven't got snow yet and he bought the biggest, most snow-overpowering truck possible in anticipation of a brutal winter. Instead we're about to crush the record for longest time without snow or something like that.

On-topic: Salad

He wouldnt retire or move. Lived here his whole life.

La roja clone before racking to secondary. Pretty meh at this point. View attachment 320129

Don't you have a sore throat? And didn't you just gargle with salt water? Even La Roja itself would probably taste meh. ;)

Diet coke after successfully running a bunch of errands over lunch.
