What should I put in my new barrel.. Thinking a RIS. That is going to get pricey but tasty. I dont think I have room for 10gal of RIS might have to do a 4x 5 gallons to fill the barrel.

I'll donate a couple pounds of grains and OZ of hops towards that barrel for a few bombers when it's all done

Thankfully no. But we did hold it to only two apts being destroyed and no one got hurt. I'm sure the other seven units are happy that they didn't lose all there belongings. Friendly PSA - don't fry fish at 3am when your stoned and drunk then pass out with the pot full of oil still going on the stove. It will ruin you and your neighbors day.

I'm thinking now taking the advise of @blizzard and do a barelywine. Easier bill and should work better to get some barrel notes come through. Going to redo my american barelywine and place it in the barrel. Will take my time with this one. Do not want to rush and make sure its full with no head space.

Ha. These guys looked like they would be friends with Ricky. What's crazy is the frequency stuff like this happens. I was talking to our rookie afterwards about it this was his first fire and couldn't believe that's how it started. In my short 12 yrs on the job this is like the fourth or fifth fire I can think of off the top of my head that started this way. As long as stoners like frying up chit in the middle of the night I will always have a job.

Celebration.

Just made a Pilsen starter, it's chilling in the sink. Going to harvest half the stater (Belgian strong ale revived and used in one batch) and pitch the other half. When I harvested the pint jar during transfer to secondary (closed vessel from fermentation keg) I left the beer on top of the yeast. Its been in the fridge for about a month and its delicious, just seems like its missing something. Aside from carbonation that is.

Can't believe they've been under my radar for this long...
And now this is a phenomenal IPA!
Bitterness shows up at the end but the citrus and melon flavors really rock.
It's been some time since I've been this impressed with a beer
