Well, I'm not planning to go to jail. lol Honestly, I'm not looking for a huge refund either. My goal is to break as close to even as I can. People who get huge refunds basically gave the US government a huge interest free loan.

That depends. In theory, that's right. We had a few clients who used the IRS as a savings tool because they'd spend the money if they had it.

But more often than not, the normal people with huge refunds paid no (or very little) taxes, so the term "refund" is somewhat silly. I saw one person (I didn't do the return, it was a free prep charity thing) get over $7k in "refund" because of dependents and the EIC. I'm willing to bet the kids didn't see any benefit; drug dealer probably did ok.
I'm so happy I don't deal with individual tax returns anymore.

Sprite. Working on ****.

Followed GPS for a bottle shop...turns out, it doesn't exist. Stopped at a convenient store and selection was abysmal. Girl working the register said she didn't know what I was talking about when I asked if there was any place around that sells microbrews or craftbrews. Please don't raise the minimum wage. Wound up at a grocery store to mix a six from a so-so selection. So, here's my hotel bar:

First up, in the ever-lovin' little plastic cup: Shiner Bock. Surprisingly, if I ever had this before, it was a long time ago and I have no recollection of it. And I like it! The hops aren't my favorite, but they aren't strong and I like the malt.

TobyG and W0WGT inspired me to get my first draft of taxes done tonight. Looks like I did it right this year. Refund of less than a good night at the bar. Still waiting on company accountant for final paperwork on something, but it won't move the total enough for a round of drinks.

Damnit, now I am gonna have to find someone else to give me kbs for upland.

Having the king of beers at the hole near home. Back to Indy in the morning for breakfast and the zoo.

Send all if your sub par IPAs to me for testing, if Hop Nosh isn't up to par for you.

Ugh just shy of a drain pour but I'm going to finish it. Thankfully it was part of a create your own 6 pack. I should have stopped after the tasting

Here's hoping you get through that slop.

Uno mas Shiner Bock. It was slushy when I poured it. Whoops.

I just ate a potato chip as big as my beer cup. But, hey! This Goose Island Ten Hills is good! It says it's fresh for 180 days from bottling date, which I just noticed is Nov 18, 2014. I'd love to try it a little fresher, just to compare, but I've got no complaints on this bottle. Malt aroma, malt up front and then quickly mixes with citrus and gives way to a bitter finish. I'm not a huge bitter fan, though...and this was still good. (48 IBU).

Here we go again...

Lol.

Somebody please help me educate my palate! This beer pours a nice, hazy orangish color and looks appetizing. Then I get the first smell of the beer and immediately know that I'm not going to like it. The flavor matches the taste and is quickly followed by a littlle malt and more bitter than I like. I seem to get that same aroma and flavor from some German beers, often lagers. Is it the hops, the yeast? They don't offer information on the bottle as to hops used. I did find the "Enjoy By" date of 29 March...cutting it close, but I don't think that's the issue. I've have perfectly good "expired" beer.

I think I'll call it a night. Oh, one drawback to Shiner Bock...it's a screw cap, so I'm not going to try to reuse the bottle. Dang.

Well that seems oddly specific...

You obviously arent familiar with my stance against relieving oneself outdoors then attending the family bbq without properly sanitizing ones hands. It's a stance that has led to much scorn and ridicule directed at me as apparently I am alone in my disdain for this aberrant behavior.
