Me, too...now. I used to commute 30 miles into downtown Detroit. Depending on what time I left and the weather, that could be anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours each way. Glad I do not do that crap anymore. I work out of two offices, both of which are around 20 miles from my home. One of those takes me 20 minutes to get to, the other around 35 minutes.

I had a 2 hour one way commute for less than a year. that was all I-90 @ 75 mph. floccin' hated it. where I'm at now some of the guys whine about the 10 minute drive. floccin' pterodactyls.

edit: more cawfeh. but I have a lager to review later.

10 minute drives are the worst. Not enough time for your truck to cool off or heat up depending on season. Nothing but commercials on the radio you might hear one song in that amount of time and if it's a crappy song your screwed.
Now 20 minute commutes are where it's at.

I for one am very curious to see what happens when mikkeller and fff get together on a dipa. There are tons of these at my local beer store but the price tag feels like dark lord day.

On normal days, the biggest risk to my commute is the cat trying to trip me on the stairs. :D

Of course I make up for that when I have to travel to CT - 4 to 4 1/2 house each way (thankfully most on a train)

Water. One more meeting and a dentist appointment to go...

^ That is my commute too but it is usually my dog. My cat is often trying to take over my office chair.

I used to commute 2-3 hours, depending upon traffic from Valencia to Irvine CA. I drove from Valencia to Carpenteria for years. I was much much younger and a smoker. I was pretty okay with the drive. No traffic. I've done my fair share of commuting for far too long.

Water. Still tired.

That 7 one the first hole is not very good :D

We can play anytime Fins, that's about how I golf lol. I live in a golf course community and I haven't ever played there... Just hit the range. What's wrong with me? At least the weather is getting better and it will be more tempting to play.

Drinking water.

Anyone have any ideas on brewing with electric on the back porch of a rental house?

My initial thought is simply.... Yes.

I have been doing a lot of research on in kettle elements and think if you keep your batch size down to 5-7 gallons, 120v would even work just fine. The only thing holding me up is deciding if I can live with small batches forever.

Preflight birthday beer (Boulevard Double Wit) and one to go. Glad I stopped in, now I just have to find room for it in my dang suitcase.

Happy birthday and cheers!

I just sampled the most amazing hydrometer sample of my Scottish Samhain Pumpkin Ale. 9.06% ABV. If I get the carb right on this...could be a new personal best! Bottled 50 bottles...now the wait. Excruciating!

Why is this the first time I have had this beer. I am gonna have to get advice from dar or bk on how long to cellar the other three bottles.... Or I will just drink them all today.

There's an idea. Hmm, when we buy a house I have no problem paying an electrician to run the wiring. For now I can live with 5-7 gallons. Hell living in Florida, brewing inside sounds pretty cool. Pun intended.

There are a million and one threads about building your own. If you are not that ambitious blichmann and some others will make it really easy for about $150 on a plug into a wall outlet element. If you do outgrow it, I suppose that unit would make a perfectly good hlt, or herms heater on a bigger system.

Fresh cup of coffee to boost the caffeine a bit. Need to tidy up the van and then head to the NC State Fair. Need to see if I managed to win anything for my crab apple jelly, wild muscadine grape jelly, or peach salsa. And then, I guess I'm joining my eldest daughter and my son (27 and 10) at the Vanilla Ice concert. They both know "Ice, Ice Baby" word for word. *sigh* At least it will be fun to watch the two of them having some time together! I should get some good fried things on sticks out of it, anyway.

Ended up sitting next to the Duvel/ommegang/Boulevard rep. Interesting conversation about the Boulevard buyout. He came from Boulevard and it sounds like it's working out for everyone so far.
