Got a text this evening from my lady’s son. Apparently he did a keg swap at one of the bars he distributes to and was unfortunately left with 1/2-2/3 of a keg of sour beer that needed a new home. Oh no!
I’ll give you a nice, chilled home. 😬
I decided to transfer it to some of my ball lock kegs rather than empty my kegerator and switch to a sanke tap. 🍻

Recipes please! I would love to make some dill and some rosemary pickles. 😬
Sure! I do approximately 8lbs of cucumbers per batch so you'll have to scale accordingly. Probably 12 pint jars depending on size of cukes.
Make brine
2 quarts water
1.5 quarts of 5% acidity white vinegar
3/4 cup canning salt
1/4 cup sugar
Garlic cloves, enough to put some in each jar. So then fresh dill for the dill obviously and fresh rosemary for the rosemary. As for the amount, I do like 10 heads of dill, or 10 sprigs of fresh rosemary, then I'll add fresh ones in the jar at canning time.
And pickling spice.. so this part i don't measure, mustard seed, dill seed, coriander, and whole peppercorns.. I'd say I use a tablespoon of each or a little more in the brine. So heat that til the salt and sugar dissolve, doesn't have to boil, then cool it down and pour it over your cucumber slices, put in the fridge overnight, The next day pull them out and stuff your jars, top with brine trying to spread the spices and herbs evenly into the jars, add fresh dill or rosemary to each jar and more fresh garlic clove if you like. Be certain to let the jars warm completely to room temp before processing or they will break in the water bath.. I usually will pack my jars and let them sit on the counter for a few hours, if you're looking to do it faster, set them in some hot water, just hot enough to warm the jars, for maybe 30 minutes... process jars in a water bath canner for 10min, remove and let cool.

Probably more info then needed but I'm at work and not real busy sooo, yeah. Haha.

I also do a spicy dill, where I just add whatever hot peppers I have on hand. Cheers!

Head on over to Maine and travel thru some cute tornado warnings. They closed down the AFB and the Blue Angels were having fun in tight formation cruising thru the twirly clouds as I headed up the highway. Wasn't able to get a pic of them out of the clouds as their roar and thunder were both going off as I parked. Pretty cool.

Then off to Tributary's anniversary and Tod Mott's retirement. It was the who's who of new England brewers. Most down to earth guy. Place was packed and was nice enough on the way out to shake his hand and have a short ribbing about retiring.

Wish I had some ice cream to drizzle the '16 MoTL over

Hey hey, lookee here! Another Kölsch!

Last month I did a very abbreviated tour of the available Kölsch and Alt beers. Kölsch traditionally comes out of Cologne and Alts out of neighboring Düsseldorf. I also had the opportunity to drink some of the US-produced versions of these beers, so any time I can find another Kölsch or Altbier, count me in!

Today I’m drinking a Dorkster of Crowner Kölsch by El Segundo Brewing, located (where else) but in lovely El Segundo, California, just south of LAX. Crowner Kölsch is a 5% ABV very traditional, lagered Ale and very similar in flavor profile to some of the European cousins, great job El Segundo! Fantastic clarity, this is a well-made beer.

Wish I could be as enthusiastic about these pathetic Kölsch Dorksters. Once again, I can’t even get the full can into the Dorkster. What, I need to fill my glass TWICE? I’m drinking…! Woof.

Local store has 4 domestic O'fests on sale. Checked them on BeerAdvocate, went to get the one with the best rating (Parish Brewing), had a senior moment and bought the one with the worst rating! And I hadn't even been drinking!
Some maltiness, undercarbed for me, a bit of an unusual aftertaste. Not terrible but not my favorite and now I have 5 more to drink.

Put 3 in a maß and just get it over with... ;)

Had the actual 35th dinner tonight. Place called Embers. Latin American with various degrees of char on everything. Started with an Austin Beer Works Fire Eagle IPA. Moved to various Mezcal cocktails. Last one was phenomenal. Smoky + grapefruit, not too sweet nice mouth. Great evening.

Oh, and we were met with this card!
