HB Belgian Single. Two weeks in the bottle. Heavy sulfur, still pretty rough. At 5% I was hopi g this would be ready pretty quick. Gonna have to sit on it a while

Out and about on my day off enjoying some excellent beers.
I had a couple at an exceptional local brewery, Kairoa. This is a saison called Rye and Dry with some local fruits. It was very well done. Just subtle fruit notes.
I added the Citra Flash mob by Russian River after my original post …

^an excellent hazy^, had one myself tonight, after an MBC "Lunch" - which (dare I say it) while a fine example of a classic IPA was commensurately pedestrian wrt character impact by comparison.

I have 70-something year old taste buds that need to get punched in the face to reaaaally savor the gusto ;)

Cheers!

Last night I threw-back two pints of my Stargazer Ale (American Strong Ale @8.6 ABV) that I brewed in Feb. So it aged 6mos. in the fridge.
Very satisfied with how it aged. Nice malt body and taste. No bite from the alcohol, well balanced.
Initial taste @ 1mo. was just OK, slight disappointment with hop aroma but that was not the goal, malt-forward and bitterness balance was and the aging took care of that.
Current state of maturity is a big thumbs-up.

Second pint of my American brown ale. So good after being in the keg since fall. Think it is better then when it was a month old.
I am not counting the pint I poured for my wife to make honey beer bread this morning. Is it my fault that when she said she needed 2 cups I thought she said 2 pints?
What was I supposed to do, dump a full glass down the drain🤯

A simple homemade beer breakfast. It's just an everyday Kölsch.
Happy Sunday, beer lovers :bigmug:

Fruhschoppen! I'd love to start that tradition here, but Mrs. Stout thinks I drink too much beer as it is. ;) Just Stammtisch in the afternoon for now.

Today I'm keeping it on the "Lite" side with my new go-to light beer, Miller Lite.

Actually this is my old go-to light beer - until I discovered Coors light, which is my new old go-to light beer if that makes any sense!

Now when I'm at the gas station beer case down on the singles end, I find my right hand gravitating towards.... yes, Miller Lite! This is the result of my light beer tour earlier this year. So, now I'm back to Miller.

I'm also enjoying my Birthday Boy bag of salted nuts, hey it's great being 29! Beermeister32 is actually lightening up on the salt these days, so a little Sodium Chloride in my diet is a welcome addition wherever I can find it! A real treat! Party Boy!
