Very tasty doppelbock. Slightly sweet, a touch of bitterness, roasted malt, a little molasses and caramel, 7.6%. I see in the small print on the label "malt liquor". Country Club has a lonnnggg way to go!

Here’s one that makes it into my rotation about once a month or so, Weihenstephaner Helles. This is a very tasty and malty lighter color beer. Note the German Helles or Hell refers to a lightness of color, not a lightness of calories or alcohol content like you might find in an American beer called "light." A Helles frequently would have a similar malt bill to a Pilsner, without the additional hopping you might find in a Pils, therefore it is somewhat more malt-forward than a Pilsner.
For your typical non-beer folk, Helles is probably an easier drink for people not too keen on the additional hop levels of a Pilsner. It’s kind of funny that so many of the “traditional” American beers (as in what we were drinking 20-90 years ago) for the most part would be called Pilsners. In reality, they are closer to a typical Helles in terms of hopping IBU. Of course they use rice, corn or other adjuncts which keep up the alcohol level, but roll back that characteristic malt flavor found in 100% Barley-malt German beers. I guess Pilsner is a pretty loose term when ordering domestic beers!
Weihenstephaner Helles is a 4.8% ABV beer. There really is none finer, this one really nails the style perfectly. Get to know it, and drink it more than once a month! It’s a great chug… ! Prost!

Drinking a local helles while brewing up 15 gallons of .. helles. Weekday brewdays are tough, probably finish up around 10pm.

Wrapped up around 9:30, og came in just a little high so can't complain.
Most likely shouldn't mention this in the beer forum, but I'm sipping on some Bray's One Month Mead I bottled in late Dec/early January?. I had it stored at Texas room temp -80 F (forgot about it) and then put it in kegerator at 50 F. Its better now than it was at bottling.
MRI done...time for food and adult beverages. IDK about the HB Helles but this retail works

Welp, looks like I just have some strained tendons. Setting up LOA for recovery but hopefully just a few weeks. On another note went out to car and flat tire in the driveway. Always something. Anyways, multiple reasons to have a beer!
HB Hefeweizen
Oatmeal stout. Dark chocolate, a little coffee, a touch of molasses, a little sweetness and bitterness. Delicious beer.
One of the best known and tastiest national IPAs is Bell’s Two Hearted IPA. I guess we can combine a “New School” American IPA with some “Old School” Beer Nuts, eh? The more things change, the more they stay the same!
Well in the case of Bell’s, their Two Hearted IPA is called an “American IPA”. Based out of Comstock, Michigan, that’s probably a pretty good and truthful statement. We get hung up on IPA types, is it a West Coast IPA, a Northeast IPA? Hazy, Fruity, Black or Clear…Double, Triple or Imperial... ! So many choices when it comes to an IPA. When Bell’s released Two Hearted IPA a number of years ago, there weren’t all the choices. IPAs were IPAs, and we were still sorting out the differences between what a traditional British IPA was, or even an early US IPA – yes they produced them in the US and Canada over 120 years ago!
I can remember my daughter’s wedding in Michigan last year. She said, “Dad, we have our choice of beer kegs at the reception, should we order the Coors or Bell's?” Well that’s not even a choice…. Bell's!

A wildly complex beer almost two years in the making, it tastes like rich milk chocolate, creamy coffee, and chocolate-covered bourbon candies in your glass.

I’m very bummed… I was in Greeley and Ft Collins, CO today. I always try to stop at the “big city” liquor stores since it’s kind of a treat for a hick like me from BFE. I specifically wanted some Köstritzer Schwarzbier. I checked 7 stores and they were all out and said they couldn’t even get it anymore. I was bragging it up to the guys in the brew club I joined and wanted to share some with them since none of them had ever had any.

Well I got half the garden tilled, I hate the old effin front tine tiller I use, it's mean to me, but it gets the job done. However the shear pins I got were a size to small so after I broke the last one it was time to quit, about to thunderstorm anyway so it'll have to wait. But I worked up a thirst for some hb neipa.

I hear you, man. I grew up dragging a tiller behind a tractor, which was gobs of good quality chaotic fun. When my fiance's father mentioned that he had to till the garden, I leapt at the opportunity to score some points and have some fun doing it. That's when I learned about push tillers. Not nearly as much fun.
This little sample I took for quality control of HB light lager. Looks like chill haze is gone or whatever haze is gone. Won’t be long and it will be judged again.

I think I saw some at my local bevys in Littleton I'll pick some up and send it over if I find it. I buy it all the time.
No disrespect to Russian River, one of my absolute favorites hands down, but it’s hard to think people wait hours in line for PTY and this gem will likely just sit collecting dust on a Total Wine end cap.
A glass of my still green Kölsch. I forgot to pour some off before filling my glass, so I got the great full head.
I was a little worried because the FG hydrometer sample had a bit of banana going on, but I’m not picking up much if any of that now. Last night I fined it with gelatin and then burst carbonated it.
I like it a lot. Should be nice and clear in another day or two.

Brings back some fond memories. One of the very first craft beers I ever had ( 35ish years ago) was a Samuel Smiths brown ale.
