Very easy drinking lager from New Belgian.

PS....Stuttgart is 100% better

Stuttgart is an awesome town, agree.

Also, don't overlook some of the smaller towns in Germany. They pull off a good O-fest celebration. I have friends in Heubach, about an hour east of Stuttgart. Had some fun times and great beer at their tents years ago.
 
homebrewed coconut stout... I added too much coconut extract to this batch and over-carbonated at bottling... it's not bad, but it's not good either. :(
I'm sure we've all over-carbed a few beers, I know I sure have. In fact, I'm on a bit of losing streak, having recently over-carbed an American stout and a Vienna lager due to my bizarre dispensing method.

On the plus side, if you burp the keg a few times over the course of a week you might be very pleasantly surprised with the results. Over-carbing sure sucks, but at least it's fixable.

Still trying to slake my thirst with Pilsner. Bitburger is one of the better-known and available German Pilsners available just about everywhere in the US. Bitburger is brewed in Bitburg, Germany since 1817!

Funny, looking at the logo, here is another brewery that uses the Student Prince themed artwork. If you want a domestic version of this advertising, look no further than the old Columbia Brewing/Heidelberg company formerly out of Tacoma, Washington. They had some similar advertising labeling and artwork – plus roadside advertising that nearly leapt off the billboard at you!

Stone 2011 Old Guardian Belgo Barleywine

A part of their “Odd Beers in Odd Years” series where they did a few twists on their seasonal releases.

This one is poured in my official Double Bastard glass.

Only a small release of pressure when opening the bottle. Pours honey amber with a small and quickly dissipating tan head. Nose is rum raisin and cherries, fruitcake.

Flavors are fruitcake, stone fruit, caramels malt and some baking spices. The Belgian character is actually less than I anticipated, which I think is a good thing. The yeast plays fairly nicely with malty richness of this beer. No noticeable hops, and probably a good thing.

While I’d still take a regular barleywine over this, it’s not a bad take on the old classic. It’s lacking carbonation and probably ten years past when it should have been drank, but I’ll finish it.

Those are the best $1/4oz drinks! I'll randomly get a Pina Colada or margarita.

American IPA, its actually more golden than it looks.
Bittering hops are perle, flavoring hops are mosaic, 2 ounces each of mosaic and citra as a dry hop, yeast is US 05- nice piney aroma, and light tangerine flavor, pleasant hop bitterness..so good I'll have another!
