Not a triple hopped hazy D(T)IPA from Hoof Hearted-quite a rarity from them. @ 14% and barrel aged it is not overly boozy or bourbon forward and the vanilla is just right. I only got this because I had a gift card for the bottle shop, but I will likely get a few more to store away for later.

I bought some of the St Arnold Christmas beer (sorta local, brewed in Houston) and it was delicious. Just drank the last one. I went back after New Year and no more CHristmas beer to be had. But I did buy 2 other ones by the same brewer. The amber ale is quite tasty, but not as good as mine. I will sample the other one later and post it.

Christmas Brew Swag my buddy got me from Aldi's of all places, that I thought I'd never use. Well, here I am using it. L to R St. Arnold Spring Boch followed by his Amber Ale ending with my Amber on the right.

I liked
Mine, followed by St Amber followed by St Boch
Since we have 2 ambers I am comparing.
St Amber had Great head initially, but much less retention. Settled down to my amber level.
St Amber lighter and crystal clear clarity. Mine was darker and just a tad hazy (less clear).
St Amber less dense (lighter) in feel, Mine was denser (heavier).
St Amber sweeter, less hoppy. (or should I say Hop Notes< whilst holding my pinky finger extended on the hand holding the glass? :)
Mine more hoppy, more toasted grain notes.

I love that Christmas Ale! I'm waiting for the HEB stores to put it in a bargain bin like they do every year after the season ends.

Speaking of bargain bin beers, Stone from summer. Not the best stout but it's doing it's job as I start our new life. This play scape my son and I built for the grandkids in 2015 has to go. Many years of fun for them but it's just rotting now.

Is it served in newspaper like fish and chips used to be in the UK?
That is one fine lobster roll and true upgrade with the newspaper. A lot of rules on a true New England lobster roll. Having said that I like the newspaper :)

OT: Green Duck has held up well hiding in the back of the fridge et al
