my honey ale and I have discovered that I have achieved a very light beer. Not a whole lot of hop character or malt profile. My wife likes it a lot so it is a success. I carbonated it much higher than all my other brews and it is kinda cool watching the bubbles rise.
OK it is a success but something I won't be drinking on a regular basis. I made my wife happy and that was it's intended purpose anyway.
I will have to try an ice cold one after mowing the lawn however. :mug:
Only problem I have now is that the honey ale is the only home brew I've got that is drinkable.:(

EDIT: I better throw that IHA into the fridge and carbonate it soon!
I used to make a very light Kölsch style beer I called Happy Wife Ale. She loved it until she fell in love with double IPAs and suddenly it wasn't hoppy enough.
 
Dregs off the bottom of the fermenter after kegging this jasmine rice lager earlier this evening. It'll be a nice July/August rice beer, but there's currently too much yeast getting in the way to say anything about the jasmine rice (I stupidly set the fermenter's racking arm too low).

Isn’t that a good part of RT15 in Pennsylvania? Hahaha I kid but there are some stretches where one would feel that way.
Haha, yeah smut alley... I wish those places would get demolished. The mountains here are pretty, I love where I live, but driving by some of thr places I just shake my head, guess you can't have it all haha.
 
With all the IPA being glugged daily, getting back to our Teutonic brewing roots sometimes makes for some great beer experiences. Today I’m sipping a fantastic beer that’s travelled farther than I did this week - Weihenstephaner’s terrific Helles lager - straight from the World's beer Mecca - Bavaria!

With all the IPA hop bombs out there, this super malty but low hopped beer just really stands out. As beer drinkers, we like hops for sure – but we also like MALT! Sometimes I like it hoppy and sometimes I like it Malty. Like trying to please two women at the same time!

Just kidding on that last statement, last think I wanted to do was to offend all you ale and sour fans out there - Just calling balls and strikes!

This is a great brew. I think Weihenstephaner truly is the World’s Finest Brewery. I never have a beer from Weihenstephaner that disappoints, they are it. They are also the oldest – 1040 AD!!! The Word’s Finest, er, Oldest Brewery is the best! (Until I taste another IPA that is!)

4.8% ABV, delicious and malty, this Helles would be hard to beat. Prost!

Yeah, but I have actually made a plan, and even more weird, it actually worked out, fresh keg put on and will be ready in a couple days.. timing like this just doesn't happen. Taster pour of new keg.

I'm in the same boat. Kegged a fizzy yellow swill earlier this evening, and I have another ready to go later in the week--I should be set for hot and muggy season.

This weekend I'll be spinning up some of Imperial's version of Whitbread (I've never used their version of the strain...fingers crossed it's the dry one) to get an early jump on UK season.

It's almost like, after 30 some years of brewing, I know what I'm doing.

But those thirty years of brewing strongly suggest that disaster is smugly lurking in the wings. ;)
